BIO DAF - Night Shift
Position Summary:
The Water Treatment operator is responsible for the effective operation of the Water-Treatment equipment,
testing system effectiveness, preventive maintenance, and cleaning of equipment. The position will take
directions from the Team Lead, Supervisor, Ops Manager, and other levels of Management when so directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
• The position will follow the required safety protocols in the execution of their duties, including
when required adhering to LOTO rules, Confined Space requirements, Shop Safety Rules, and
reporting requirements for incidents.
• The position must understand and perform the quality testing requirements of the process to
ensure a product that enables the system to produce high-quality polymer products.
• The position should document test results, keeping data as required to meet reporting
requirements.
• The position should communicate to their supervisor when the system does not meet
specification parameters or there is a safety issue or operational issue in the area.
• The position must understand and perform startup and shutdown parameters for the area,
adjusting them to meet processing parameters.
• The position must monitor tank levels, motor/pump frequencies, amperage draws, and chemical
dosing levels, adjusting within approved procedures to remedy issues.
• The position must have a working knowledge and understanding of the HMI for safe, efficient
operation of the equipment.
• The position must display good communication skills between operators and supervisors
throughout the process.
• The position shall be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and area by
utilizing cleaning solutions, pressure washers, and other equipment to accomplish the task,
meeting 5S and Preventive Maintenance requirements.
• The position must be able to travel on occasion for training purposes to other plants or locations
as requested.
• Will be required to maintain housekeeping requirements for their assigned area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management or apparent.

Experience and Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Prefer a minimum of 1 year of prior related experience in extrusion operation or in a production
workspace regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional,
courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of
honesty and trustworthiness.
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and
safe manner.

Work Environment, Schedule, and Physical Demands:
The work environment is on the plant floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to
loud and we expect employees and visitors to wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) including
hearing protection while on the plant floor.
We have a 24/7 process operation. The work schedule for this position is dictated by the need to manage and
react to issues on the shifts. The planned schedule for this position is:
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, rotating days off, working every other
weekend.
• Night Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, rotating days off, working every other
weekend.
This position will require the following physical demands.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently required to: stand, climb stairs, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl; work near moving
mechanical parts; work around fumes/airborne particles; work in high, precarious places; exposed to
wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Continually required to: talk or hear; utilize hand and finger dexterity; utilize close and distance
vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Forklift, Extruder and HMI. The physical demands
described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform
the essential functions of this job.
